Welcome to another school year at TKMS.  I’ll be providing daily updates on my blog to help you stay on top of your assignments and due dates.  Updates will include a summary of what we did in class that day, any homework or assignments you might need to work on that night, and reminders of upcoming due dates for assignments, tests and projects.

English:  Had our final work day on our research projects.  Research packets and presentations should be ready to go when you get to class tomorrow.

IA:  Read ch. 11-12 and worked on vocabulary for ch. 11-15.  Vocabulary worksheet is due tomorrow.

English:  Worked on research presentations and packet assembly.  Final progress check is due tomorrow and presentations begin Thursday.

IA:  Read chapters 9-10 and took a quiz over ch. 8-10.

English:  Worked in the computer lab editing rough copies of research papers and starting final copies.  No homework tonight.  Next progress check is to have a completed final copy by the end of the day Wednesday.

IA:  Read chapters 1-2 in The Giver.  Notes for ch. 1-2 are due tomorrow.

English:  Learned how to create a works-cited page and worked in the lab on rough copies and works-cited pages.  Next progress check (completed works-cited page) is tomorrow. 

IA:  Finished presentations and started pre-reading activities for our next book, The Giver.  No homework.

English:  No homework.  Mr. Willshire presented his substance abuse lesson today in English.  Reminder that the progress check due date for rough copies of the research paper is now Monday, April 27.

IA:  Final work day on projects for They Cage the Animals at Night.  Projects should be finished and ready to share with the class Monday.

Reminder:  Community service project work day tomorrow.  Bring a pair of work gloves if you have them.

English:  Worked on rough copies of research papers in the computer lab.  Extended the due date for the rough copies until next Monday, April 27.  Mr. Willshire will be doing a presentation during English tomorrow and Friday is our community service project day.

IA:  Started mini-projects for They Cage the Animals at Night.  Mini-project will be due by the end of the hour tomorrow.

English:  Work day in the computer lab to write rough copy of research paper.  Progress check on rough copies is due by the end of the day tomorrow.

IA:  Took ch. 14 quiz and read from ch. 15 to the end of the book.  No homework.

English:  Worked on outlines for research papers in the computer lab.  Today was the due date for the outline progress check.  Your next due date will be to have your rough copy finished by the end of the day this Wednesday.

IA:  Read ch. 14 and did a journal activity for ch. 14.

Reminder:  This Friday will be our community service day.  Bring a pair of work gloves with you Friday if you can.

English:  Worked on taking notes for research projects in the computer lab.  Tomorrow is the due date for the progress check on your notes and sources.  You will need at least six source/note sheets to pass this progress check.

IA:  Read ch. 11-12 in class.  Finish the ch. 12 reading and notes for tomorrow if you didn’t get it finished in class.
